Wheels Up! Youth Skate Program Receives $25,000 Donation
The first group of kids to complete eight weeks of skateboarding lessons at the Newport Skatepark with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Newport County’s new Wheels Up! program received certificates from their coach, pro skater Donny Barley on May 29. Then, they found out they could keep their skateboards.

Adeqouyah Kamali Josephine Mathews, a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County, was recently chosen as the 2025 Rhode Island Youth of the Year on May 21. The honor is the highest accolade a BGC member can receive at the state level.
