NEWPORT, R.I. — Youth aquatics programs are back in Newport thanks to a community partnership that’s keeping swim instruction afloat during a major construction project.
After weeks of nominations, thousands of votes, and incredible community participation, the results are officially in. The Best of Newport Buzz Awards 2025 proudly celebrate the people, places, and businesses that make Newport County shine.
The Florence Gray Center, known as the “heart of Newport’s North End,” began beating with new life on Nov. 4 at the wall breaking ceremony for their major renovation project.
The Middletown School District recently received a $50,000 McKinney Vento grant from the Rhode Island Department of Education to help support homeless students.

The bank is partnering with 16 nonprofit organizations to distribute donations, continuing a tradition that delivered nearly 7,000 presents to Rhode Island kids last year.
