Group Swim Lessons

Our wrestling program helps kids develop strength, discipline, and confidence both on and off the mat. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to refine their skills, our experienced coaches create a positive and encouraging environment for all levels of experience.

Swim Lesson Levels

Parent/Child lessons are designed to get your child acclimated to the water and to teach YOU the caregiver how to safely swim and be with your child in the water. During these lessons you and your child will be learning how to be safe and comfortable in and around water, playing and bonding with your child.

Level A – Introduction to Water

Level B – Water Movement

Level A (Beginner): Introduction to Safe Water Skills

Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it. Focus on building confidence in the water (shallow to deep). Confidence in putting face in the water and begin learning the front glide and back glide (Supported). Introduction to learning the techniques of freestyle and backstroke (Supported).

Level B (Intermediate): Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills

Students will learn basic swimming skills and focus on swimming freestyle and backstroke supported/unsupported. Additionally, they will learn how to jump into the pool supported/unsupported and swim to the wall.

Level I (Beginner): Introduction to Safe Water Skills

Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it. Focus on building confidence in the water (shallow to deep). Confidence in putting face in the water and begin learning the front glide and back glide. Introduction to learning the techniques of freestyle and backstroke.

Level II (Intermediate): Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills

Students will learn basic swimming skills and focus on fine-tuning their freestyle and backstroke techniques. They will start learning the proper bilateral breathing technique for freestyle, as well as rotation on backstroke. Also, swimmers in this group will start learning to tread water and swim in the deep end of the pool. 

Level III (Advanced): Stroke Development and Stamina and Endurance

Additional guided practice will help students improve their swim skills learned in Level 1 and Level 2. Introduction of diving (from the side and diving blocks) and techniques of breaststroke and butterfly. Refine freestyle and backstroke swim skills. Swimmers will work on stamina and endurance to swim at least 100 yds using bilateral breathing and transitioning from backstroke to freestyle.

Level IV (Master): Endurance and Stamina with Skill Refinement and Proficiency

Swimmers will work on stamina and endurance to swim at least 200 yds using bilateral breathing and a combination of swim skills learned (Breaststroke, Freestyle, Backstroke, and Butterfly). Guidance allows kids to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers.

Level A (Beginner)

Learn confidence in water (shallow and deep). Learn to trust the water and how your body moves in an aquatic environment. Learn basic swimming strokes and skills needed to stay safe, and help keep others safe in and around the water. 

Level B (Intermediate)

Participants will gain proficiency in basic aquatic skills (Freestyle, Backstroke, Treading, etc…) Introduction to Butterfly and Breaststroke swim techniques. Introduction to diving. Participants will learn to refine their front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and turns to build endurance. 

Level C (Master Swim Class)

Coached swim practice to give tips and tricks on proper stroke mechanics, training techniques, and goal setting. Learn techniques to be an efficient swimmer to focus on building endurance and stamina in the pool.

Registration

All Club attendees must become a BGC member prior to participating in Swim Lessons.
